Drag left or right to change the tab's position, drag down to remove the tab, or double-click to change the tab's properties.

Zoom In

To view part of the document at an enlarged size, click here.

Zoom Out

To view more of the document at a reduced size, click here.

Zoom pop-up menu

Shows the current level of magnification for the document view.

To change the zoom setting, click and hold down the mouse button here.

Shows the name of the selected reference frame.  If no frame is selected, shows the reference page number.

To name the selected frame, click here.

Shows the name of the current master page.

To rename the page, click here.

Shows the current page number and the total number of pages in the document.

To go to a specific page, click here.

Tag Area

Shows the flow, paragraph,  character, and condition tags for the current selection.

To display the Equations palette, click here.

To display the Tools palette, click here.

To display the Structure View, click here.

To display the Element catalog, click here.

To display the Character catalog, click here.

To display the Paragraph catalog, click here.

Paragraph Format pop-up menu

Displays the paragraph format of the selected text.

To change the format, click and hold down the mouse button here.

Decimal tab

Use to align columns of numbers on their decimal points. 

To add a decimal tab stop, drag one from here onto the ruler.

Right tab

Use to align columns of text flush right. 

To add a right-aligned tab stop, drag one from here onto the ruler. 

Center tab

Use to align columns of text at their centers. 

To add a center-aligned tab stop, drag one from here onto the ruler. 

Left tab

Use to align columns of text flush left. 

To add a left-aligned tab stop, drag one from here onto the ruler.

Spacing pop-up menu

Shows the line spacing setting for the selected paragraphs.

To change the line spacing, click and hold down the mouse button here.

Alignment pop-up menu

Shows the alignment setting for the selected paragraphs.

To change the alignment, click and hold down the mouse button here.

Formatting bar toggle

To display or hide the formatting bar, click here.

Right margin

Shows the right margin for the current paragraph.

Indent

Shows the indent for the first line of the current paragraph.

Left margin

Shows the left margin for the current paragraph.

Tab bar

Shows tabs. Click to create a new tab, or drag a tab from the tab well.

Horizontal ruler

Shows the location of indents and tab stops, and helps position text and graphics on the page.

Vertical ruler

Helps position text and graphics on the page.
